Zepp'
Craft Lager (Bavarian Pilsner) | 4.7% ABV | 29 IBU | Regularly Brewed
The first Craft Lager in French-speaking Switzerland – "Tcheu c'est bon!"
The portrait
After decades of industrial pale ales, Zepp' invites us to rediscover the authentic taste of a craft lager. Lightly malted, it is balanced by exceptionally high-quality noble hops, revealing floral aromas reminiscent of a spring bouquet.
This Bavarian-style Pilsner-inspired craft lager pays homage to classic Pilsner traditions. Noble Saazer and Spalter Select hops impart its characteristic aroma, while its lager profile delivers a dry, slightly bitter finish typical of the style. Both dry and refreshing, each sip transports you to the banks of the Isar River in Munich, with your feet in the water.
A thirst-quenching beer made according to the rules of the art , with love and passion, which proves that craft lagers can compete in character and finesse with industrial versions.
History & Innovation
Zepp' holds a pioneering title: it was the first craft lager available in bars in French-speaking Switzerland. For six years, from 2014 to 2020, it was only available on tap, exclusively for the restaurant and bar industry. But faced with growing demand, Zepp' launched in cans in 2020, before joining the bottled range in 2024.
Major events like the Festival de la Cité, the Youth Olympic Games, and the Tour de France have allowed thousands of people to discover this beer. Each time, the same enthusiastic reaction is heard: "Tcheu, it's good!"
A note on its name: until 2022, only a beer brewed in Pilsen (Plzeň), Czech Republic, could claim the name "Pilsner." Although it's a Bavarian Pilsner—characterized by a generous dose of hops—Zepp' retains the name "Craft Lager" to be understood by the general public.
The visual universe
Zepp's design is as unique as its taste. The greyhound and camel on the label pay homage to the city of Pilsen, the birthplace of this legendary beer style. These animals are historical symbols of this Czech city that gave its name to the style.
The dreamcatcher that also adorns the label symbolizes the bohemian spirit of Eastern Europe, a poetic nod to the geographical and cultural origins of this brewing style.
Food and beer pairings
This beer pairs perfectly with rich and indulgent dishes such as bratwurst, mild cheeses, or pretzels. It also shines on sunny terraces alongside a variety of appetizers and white meats.
Its dry and refreshing profile makes it an excellent companion for summer dishes, grilled fish, or fine charcuterie. Best enjoyed chilled!
The final word
From draft beer to cans, then bottles, Zepp' has won the hearts of French-speaking Swiss for over a decade. This pioneer of craft lagers continues to write its story, one glass at a time. If you haven't tried it yet, it's time to discover why so many people exclaim, " Wow, it's good!"
Cheers! 🍻
