The Titanic Soundtrack
New Peruvian IPA | 6.5% ABV | IBU N/A | Brewed in 2018
When the Zeppelin sails towards Sweden to the sound of epic violins
The portrait
Sailing through tumultuous seas towards Gothenburg, La Nébuleuse's Zeppelin joined forces with our good friends at Beerbliotek to create a New Peruvian IPA of a completely new kind: a hoppy beer enriched with Peruvian purple corn! This bold collaboration explores new aromatic territories by marrying the Swedish craft spirit with the experimental audacity of French-speaking Switzerland.
The Titanic Soundtrack unleashes powerful waves of Citra, Ekuanot, and Nelson Sauvin hops that transport the palate to explosive aromas of citrus, white wine, and tropical fruit. Massive amounts of wheat and oat flakes have produced a beautifully round and velvety body (causing disastrous filtration in the brewery, incidentally!). This smooth texture contrasts deliciously with the hoppy vibrancy, creating a tasting experience as epic as the soundtrack that inspired it.
The story
This collaboration was born from a maritime and musical adventure. While the La Nébuleuse team was sailing to Gothenburg to meet their friends at Beerbliotek , a Swedish brewery among the rising stars of the Scandinavian craft scene, they listened to the epic soundtrack of the film Titanic on repeat. This sonic anecdote inspired the name of this beer, as dramatic as it is exhilarating.
The bold choice to incorporate Peruvian purple corn reflects the spirit of experimentation that unites these two breweries. Beerbliotek, known for its philosophy of collaborating with breweries they admire and creating beers they themselves would want to drink, was the ideal partner for this transcontinental brewing adventure. This New Peruvian IPA perfectly represents La Nébuleuse's tendency to push the boundaries of the style while maintaining excellent drinkability.
Food and beer pairings
The Titanic Soundtrack pairs wonderfully with Swedish meatballs (köttbullar) or beef empanadas , as suggested at its launch – a nod to the two cultures brought together in this collaboration.
Its tropical aromas and smooth texture also make it an excellent companion for spicy Asian dishes such as Thai green curry or chicken and lime tacos . The hoppy intensity and notes of exotic fruits pair remarkably well with tropical fruit salads. (mango, pineapple, lychee) or ceviches that reflect the beer's Peruvian influence. For the more adventurous, try it with citrus-infused dark chocolate to play on the contrast between the hoppy bitterness and the cocoa sweetness.
The final word
The Titanic Soundtrack remains a memorable chapter in La Nébuleuse's history of collaborations. This New Peruvian IPA proved that a sea voyage, a legendary soundtrack, and two creative breweries could give birth to a unique beer that left its mark—on both minds and palates. A fine demonstration that the best beers are often born from genuine friendships and a taste for brewing adventure.
